DEADLINE |
Every Wednesday
Activity: Wednesday Outdoor Workouts
Location: See www.sevenhillswheelmen.org/weds.htm
Time: Usually 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. -- but always check the web page
Leader: Rick Krasnick, richard_krasnick@yahoo.com
, 508-852-7701
Check www.sevenhillswheelmen.org/weds.htm each week for the game plan.
Fridays in March
Activity: Show 'n' Go road ride, weather permitting
Location: Grafton Common, Route 140, Grafton.
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Show 'n' Go means no leader; just show up, and we'll see where the road takes us. We're likely to bag it if it's below 45 degrees or the roads are too messy. We picked Grafton because it's midway between Hopedale and Worcester, the hometowns of two riders who are usually free in the mornings. To get an idea of who might go, check in before 2 p.m. Thursday with Peter Simmons, PeteSim85@aol.com , 508-478-6589, or Lynne Tolman, LTolman@LTolman.org , 508-831-0301.
Friday, March 10
Activity: Open Shop & Club Social
Location: Barney's Bicycle, 165 Chandler St., Worcester
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Leader: Peter Howard, 508-799-BIKE, barneysbicycle@rcn.com
Bring your bike for free service and/or maintenance lessons and/or use of the work area and tools at Seven Hills Wheelmen president Pete Howard's bike store. Work space is limited to six bikes, but there's no limit on the number of people (Seven Hills Wheelmen MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS). Club members who know a thing or two about using a wrench are welcome to help teach as well. The usual Seven Hills member discount of 10 percent will be increased to 20 percent for over-the-counter parts on this night only. Refreshments will be served.
Sunday, March 26
Activity: Road ride, 38 miles, C+
Location: Paxton Center School, Route 31, Paxton
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Leader: Pete Banach, cell 508-887-2656, banach331@charter.net
Return of the Spring Water Ride: lots of streams, rivers and waterfalls overflowing with snowmelt. Last year we made a splash on some roads that were under water. One real big climb, at the Alta Vista buffalo farm in Rutland, but we wait for everyone. Rain date is April 2.
Last-minute activities:
Weather and ground conditions this time of year make it hard to
plan very far ahead. But if you want company when you bike or
hike or ski or snowshoe, e-mail your plan (time, date, place,
activity) to LTolman@LTolman.org
and Lynne will forward it to everyone in the club. It's best to
contact Lynne by noontime Thursday for weekend activities.
